WWE Legend “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan Tackles & Detains Home Invader at Gunpoint!
|
Although Hacksaw Jim Duggan never reached the heights of pro wrestlers such as Hulk Hogan, the Ultimate Warrior, Randy “Macho Man” Savage, Brett Hart, or Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka during the Golden Era of WWE in the 80s, he remained a fandom fixture long after leaving the promotion for the first time back in 1994.
His likability, the trademark 2×4 piece of lumber he used to lug around, and his famous “hooo” chant still ring bells in the WWE universe. The 68-year-old is currently signed to the WWE under a “legend’s contract,” which essentially makes him an ambassador for the brand.
He might not grace the ring like he used, but the pro wrestling veteran still has some fight in him. An unlucky home invader recently found that out the hard way.
In an interview made available to the public last week by Wrestling Inc., the 1988 Royal Rumble winner shared a wild story from December 8th. Hacksaw detailed a burglary attempt where a male intruder in his twenties entered his South Carolina home during the wee hours of the morning with a .44 caliber pistol in hand.
For the home invader, the ordeal came to an abrupt end when Hacksaw blindsided him with a devastating tackle and dislodged his firearm before turning it against him. From there, Hacksaw detained the intruder and held him at gunpoint while his wife, Debra, placed a call to the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department, who later arrived on the scene.
“Thank God we didn’t shoot him,” Hacksaw said.
It was later revealed that the intruder entered the home in an effort to find a safe haven from people in the area whom he believed were actively trying to take his life.
