Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk Agree on Terms For April 29 Showdown, Says WBA
The World Boxing Association has been informed that heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have reached an agreement to fight each other on April 29 at Wembley Stadium in London.
After months of negotiations, the WBA gave both sides to reach a deal by end of business on Friday – or else the sanctioning body was going to order Usyk to make a mandatory defense against Daniel Dubois.
The sanctioning body was advised by both sides that a deal had tentatively been reached.
Fury saw action in December, when he battered Derek Chisora to retain the WBC title, while Usyk – who holds the WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO world titles – is coming off back to back decision wins over Anthony Joshua.
