With the NFL offseason comes predictions and bold takes. That specifically happens with trades that could happen before the season or the deadline. With that in mind, AJ Brown becomes an intriguing trade option, and if he is traded, it will be to the Carolina Panthers.
For the Eagles they could be major sellers at the trade deadline if how they ended last season continues into 2024. They lost six of the last seven games including their playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If that’s how the season starts it’ll be time for the Eagles to consider a rebuild and start new. Part of that process would be to trade for draft capital, and if the Eagles are losing Brown will want out.
With that there is a team that needs wide receiver help in the Panthers to create an ideal fit. Right now they have Adam Thielen, Diontae Johnson, Xavier Legette, and Jonathan Mingo.
It’s definitely an improved room compared to last season but it isn’t complete. Thielen is currently the top receiver but he is going to be 34 by the start of the season. Brown is only 27 and can take the role of top receiver for the Panthers going forward. Not to mention he’d provide Bryce Young with a contested catch receiver that he can target deep down the field and rely on.
Brown would provide that with bringing his 6,382 yards and 45 touchdowns with 68 contested catches as well. With the offense under Dave Canales it will reach new heights and the Panthers will be in contention creating an ideal atmosphere for Brown to play in. With Brown it would propel the Panthers forward further and help the Eagles initiate a rebuild.
