Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is not buying that his team doesn’t look good to start the season, a narrative that has been pushed by many despite their undefeated start.
“We can’t be any better than we are right now at 4-0 … It’s just growth,” Sirianni said via 94 WIP. “That’s all I really can say and we’ve found ways to win games. Do I debate that we don’t look good? Yeah, I would. 4-0 is 4-0.”
For the second straight year, the Eagles have gotten off to an undefeated start to the season. In 2022, they started 8-0 before losing to the Washington Commanders.
This year, Philadelphia has received some criticism despite its 4-0 start for not winning in convincing enough fashion each week. The Eagles defeated the New England Patriots (25-20), the Minnesota Vikings (34-28), the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (25-11) and most recently, the Washington Commanders in overtime (34-31).
Through four weeks, the Eagles are fifth in the NFL in scoring offense at 29.5 points per game, behind the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, respectively. In terms of defense, they are dead in the middle of the league at 16th, giving up 22.5 points per game.
They are one of only two undefeated teams left in the NFL along with San Francisco, but many have argued that they don’t look as strong as last season. Last season, the Eagles only lost one game with star quarterback Jalen Hurts starting and made it to the Super Bowl.
Sirianni will try to keep Philadelphia undefeated when it hits road to take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at 4:05 p.m.
