Eagles Receive Huge Injury News On TE Dallas Goedert
|
After a hiccup in Week 10 on Monday Night Football against the Washington Commanders, the Philadelphia Eagles have gotten things back on track the last two weeks.
They have defeated the Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers, accomplishing both without the services of tight end Dallas Goedert.
Goedert was injured in the game against Washington. It was a bad miss by the referees as Goedert was tackled by his facemask but there was no penalty called on the play. To add insult to injury, he also fumbled on the play, which was one of four turnovers that Philadelphia committed in the game.
A shoulder injury was suffered as Goedert was unable to brace himself after being tackled by his facemask. It resulted in him being placed on IR, which means that he will be sidelined for at least four games. He has already missed two games and will miss at least two more against the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants.
However, a recent update on his status is very encouraging. According to Zach Berman of The Athletic, there is optimism that Goedert will be able to return when he is first eligible in Week 15 when the Eagles head on the road to face the Chicago Bears
There's optimism that Dallas Goedert can return when he's eligible to come off IR in Week 15. Goedert was in the locker room today without a sling.

That is excellent news for Goedert and the Eagles as they have certainly missed having him on the field. Without him in the lineup, Philadelphia was lacking some punch in their passing game as Jalen Hurts has thrown for only 310 yards in the two full games.
There wasn’t a capable replacement on the roster to take his place as Jake Stoll and Grant Calcaterra have been filling in for him.
On the season, Goedert has caught 43 passes for 544 yards and three touchdowns. He is third on the team in receptions and yardage and tied for second in touchdowns scored. His presence is certainly missed as the third option behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
