Eagles Admit NFL Draft Mistake By Trading Jalen Reagor To Vikings!
|
The wheelin’ dealin’ Eagles are moving on from their 2020 first-round draft pick.
Philadelphia traded wide receiver Jalen Reagor to the Minnesota Vikings for a conditional 2024 fourth-round pick and a 2023 seventh-rounder, according to multiple reports.
This is the second major trade the Eagles have made in the last 24 hours, as they acquired safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson from the Saints when extension talks broke down.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the expectation is that Reagor will be on the roster as a returner and maybe mix with a small role on the offense.
Ahead of him on the depth chart are stud receivers Justin Jefferson and Adam Theilen, with some combination of Jalen Nailor, K.J. Osborn, and maybe Reagor mixing in as he learns the offense.
The trade signals a tough end to Reagor’s time in Philadelphia. The Eagles dubiously drafted him one spot ahead of Jefferson, who was an All-Pro last season.
Reagor is now on his second team in just his third season, while Minnesota looks prepared to give Jefferson a historic contract in 2023.
The trade comes just two days after the Vikings’ wide receiver, Bisi Johnson, tore his ACL at the conclusion of training camp, ending his season for the second consecutive year. Hopefully, a fresh start for Reagor is what he needs to get on track in the NFL.
