Carlee Russell Not Talking To POLICE … Hires LAWYER … Police May Be Building Case Against Her!!

Carlee Russell, the Alabama woman, who claimed to have been abducted, is no longer speaking to police, Media take Out has learned. And the family has retained a lawyer – we’re being told.

And there’s a growing speculation that police are no longer looking for her abductor … but rather building a criminal case – a la Jusse Smollet – against her.

A prominent Alabama private investigator, who investigates missing persons broke the news on Twitter late last night.

The 25-year-old community college student claims she was abducted last Thursday, but she reappeared on Saturday night.

In a statement, Hoover police said Russell was seen on surveillance camera buying snacks at a Target store on Highway 280 at 8:40 p.m. The snacks were not found in her car that was abandoned on the shoulder of I-459.

Also not found in the car was a food order that Russell picked up from a takeout restaurant at 8:19 p.m.

Police also found no evidence of a toddler walking down the interstate, according to WBRC. Carlee claimed that she was “lured” by her alleged abductors, by them using a toddler as bait.

Police have scheduled a press conference for today at 3:30, where they will announce their findings.

But Carilee and her parents are starting to take measures to protect the young woman from any potential criminal liability she may face, if police decide that she’s not telling the truth.

Media Take Out confirmed that the family has hired lawyers – and are preparing for anything. The family released the following statement yesterday.

“Carlee has given detectives her statement and hopefully they are pursuing her abductor. It will be up to law enforcement to determine what information they want to release and when they want to release this information as to not compromise her situation.
