Jay-Z’s attorney has spoken out about the rumored longtime friendship between his client and Sean “Diddy” Combs and says the music moguls are not friends.
“There is no friendship or longtime bond here” Alex Spiro told NBC News, adding that “just because they knew each other, know each other, that doesn’t mean anything.”
Jay-Z was recently added to a lawsuit against Diddy alleging sexual assault. The alleged victim recently admitted to holes in their story meaning the lawsuit could fall apart.
Diddy has been charged with one count of racketeering conspiracy, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison; one count of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison and a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison; and one count of transportation for purposes of prostitution, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
He denies the charges. It is believed that the majority of the case is based on his former relationship with singer Cassie Ventura.
There is a video showing Diddy violently assaulting Cassie. Diddy apologized for the attack in a recorded video posted to his Instagram before deleting weeks later.
