Jay-Z: “It Felt Like a Gun to My Head”
In a newly filed declaration, Jay-Z described the emotional and reputational toll of Buzbee’s now-dismissed lawsuit. “I felt that Mr. Buzbee was placing a gun to my head—that I either bow to his demands or endure personal and financial ruin,” he stated.
Jay-Z firmly believes that the lawsuit was nothing more than an attempt at extortion, designed to pressure him into settling rather than risk his name being dragged through the mud. And now that the allegations have been dismissed with prejudice—meaning they can’t be refiled—he’s making it his mission to hold Buzbee accountable.
Targeting Jay-Z’s Family?
One of the most damning accusations in Jay-Z’s declaration is that Buzbee timed the lawsuit to disrupt a major milestone for his family. The complaint was filed just before the premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King, a highly anticipated film that features Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy.
